Terms of service
1. Aethra Shoes
By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, and Returns Policy. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Eligibility and Service Availability
We offer international delivery to destinations supported at checkout. You must be legally capable of entering into a contract and provide accurate billing, delivery, and contact information. If you are under 18, an adult must place the order on your behalf.
3. Our Footwear and Product Categories
Our collections may include:
· Ready-to-ship footwear: standard products available from stock.
· Pre-order footwear: existing designs ordered ahead of availability or produced following an order, without necessarily being individually personalized.
· Bespoke or custom-made footwear: products genuinely made to a customer's individual specifications or clearly personalized, such as agreed changes to materials, colours, heel heights, embellishments, or measurements.
4. Product Information and Handcrafted Details
We aim to describe and photograph our products accurately. Colours may appear different on different screens. Hand-finished items may show minor natural variations, but the delivered goods must conform to their description, agreed specifications, and applicable consumer law. We will not substitute material design elements without your agreement where that is required.
5. Prices, Taxes and Payment
Prices are displayed in the currency shown at checkout and the total payable will be presented before you submit your order. Applicable taxes will be handled as indicated at checkout. We accept the payment methods displayed during checkout; available methods may change.
Full payment is ordinarily required at checkout unless a different arrangement is expressly offered and agreed.
Promotional offers are subject to their stated conditions. Unless otherwise specified, only one discount code may be used per order. Changes in listed prices do not affect orders already accepted.
6. Placing an Order and Contract Formation
After checkout, we will send an acknowledgement confirming receipt of your order. An acknowledgement does not by itself mean that the order has been accepted. A contract is formed when we expressly accept your order by email or issue a separate order acceptance confirmation. For bespoke orders, our acceptance will identify or refer to the agreed individual specifications.
We may decline an order for legitimate reasons, including product unavailability, payment verification issues, or an obvious pricing error. If we cannot fulfil an order for which payment has been taken, we will refund the relevant amount promptly and in accordance with applicable law.
7. Ready-to-Ship Orders
Products marked ready to ship are generally prepared for dispatch on the next working day, subject to order verification, operational conditions, and any different estimate displayed at checkout. Dispatch estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates. Any binding delivery commitment communicated at purchase will be honoured subject to applicable law.
8. Pre-Orders
Pre-orders allow you to purchase a design before it is available for immediate dispatch. Our indicative timeframe for pre-order products is 2–6 weeks, unless a different timeframe is displayed and agreed before purchase. The product page should specify whether that estimate refers to production, dispatch, or delivery.
Material availability and production circumstances can affect timing. We will notify you of material delays and explain the available options, including any cancellation or refund rights under applicable law.
9. Bespoke and Personalized Orders
Bespoke footwear is created to individual specifications agreed with you, which may include custom materials, colours, heel heights, embellishments, or measurements.
Before accepting a bespoke order, we will confirm the agreed design, key specifications, total price, and expected production or delivery timeframe in writing. You are responsible for reviewing the confirmed specifications and for providing accurate measurements or instructions. We remain responsible for producing goods that conform to the agreed specifications and applicable legal standards.
Cancellation of genuinely personalized goods: Once a bespoke order has been accepted, cancellation or changes may not be possible.
10. Complimentary Worldwide Shipping
We offer complimentary worldwide standard shipping to destinations available at checkout. Shipping charges for standard delivery are included in our offer, and no separate standard shipping fee will be added to eligible orders.
Delivery times vary by destination and are calculated from dispatch, not necessarily from the date of order. When an order is shipped, we will provide tracking details where tracking is available from the carrier.
11. Customs Duties and Import Taxes
For deliveries to Romania and the United Kingdom, our intention is that customers will not be asked to pay additional customs duties or import taxes upon delivery.
For other international destinations, import duties, taxes, customs handling charges, or local fees may apply. Unless we expressly state at checkout that these are included, the customer is responsible for charges imposed by the destination country. Customs procedures may cause delays outside our direct control, without affecting statutory delivery rights.
12. Delivery, Delays and Risk
Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address. Contact us as soon as possible if an address needs correction; changes may not be possible after dispatch.
We will deliver within the period agreed at purchase or otherwise within the period required by applicable law. If delivery is delayed, we will communicate with you and respect your legal rights to require delivery, cancel where entitled, and obtain any refund due.
Risk of loss or damage normally passes to a consumer when the goods come into their physical possession, or that of a person they identify to receive them, subject to applicable law.
13. Cancellations and Returns for Standard Products
For qualifying online purchases of ready-to-ship and standard pre-order products, consumers generally have the statutory right to cancel without giving a reason within 14 days after receiving the goods.
To exercise a cancellation right, notify us clearly by emailing contact@aethra.co.uk before the relevant deadline. You may use any unequivocal statement identifying your order and decision to cancel. You should return goods within 14 days after notifying us, unless another arrangement is agreed.
For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for direct return shipping costs where this was disclosed before purchase, unless we expressly agree otherwise. Customers may inspect footwear as they would in a shop.
Refunds will be processed using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed, within the statutory deadlines. We may withhold reimbursement until we receive the goods back or receive evidence that they have been sent back. Any refund of standard delivery costs will be handled in accordance with applicable law, even though our standard shipping is complimentary.
For the full procedure, please see our Returns Policy.
14. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods
All footwear must meet applicable statutory requirements, including conformity with description, satisfactory quality where required, and fitness for purpose where legally applicable.
If you receive faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied, or non-conforming goods, contact contact@aethra.co.uk with your order details and a description of the issue.
15. Sizing and Measurements
Please consult our Size Guide before ordering. For bespoke footwear, provide accurate measurements and review all specifications carefully. We will take reasonable care to make the goods to the agreed measurements and specifications. Any question about fit or conformity will be assessed in light of the agreed order and applicable consumer rights.
16. Intellectual Property
Our website content, original designs, images, text, logos, and other protected materials are owned by us or used under licence. No intellectual property rights are transferred by purchasing a product. You may not reproduce or commercially exploit our protected materials without permission, except as permitted by law.
A bespoke order does not automatically grant exclusive rights to a design unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
17. Customer Content and Reviews
If you submit reviews, photographs, or other content to us, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to share it. We may display content you intentionally submit for publication in connection with our website and services, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy. We will seek any additional consent required for identifiable photographs or promotional reuse. We may remove unlawful, misleading, or inappropriate content.
18. Website Use and Third-Party Services
You agree not to misuse our website, interfere with its security, or infringe the rights of others. Our website may use third-party payment, shipping, and technology services. Their separate terms may apply where disclosed, but they do not reduce our obligations to you as the seller.
19. Privacy and Communications
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law. We may communicate with you electronically about orders, delivery, customer service, and other matters permitted by law. Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable consent and opt-out requirements.
20. Liability and Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
We are responsible for losses caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill where legally required. We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, except where the law provides otherwise. These Terms do not limit statutory rights to remedies for faulty, misdescribed, delayed, or undelivered goods.
21. Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
Events outside our reasonable control may affect production or delivery, including severe weather, transport disruption, or interruption of material supply. We will take reasonable steps to reduce the impact and keep you informed. This clause does not remove any cancellation, refund, or delivery rights that apply by law.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to our services, business practices, or legal obligations. The version applicable to an order will generally be the version in effect when that order is accepted, unless a change is required by law or you expressly agree otherwise. We will not retrospectively remove contractual or statutory rights by updating the website.
